The popular magazine posted an article abut  the best places to visit in the United States. What was truly unique about this list is the fact that it's specifically geared towards solo travelers.

Portland

Of course, Portland makes the list. Maine’s largest city is a hub of fun, art, food, craft beer, and incredible sightseeing (plus, the people-watching is excellent).

Portland is very walkable and relatively safe for travelers. There’s also a wealth of excursions perfect for the solo adventurer seeking fun and interesting activities.

And naturally, Bar Harbor made the list. The Downeast town is home to Maine’s most popular tourist attraction: Acadia National Park. The park is absolutely perfect for solo travelers.

Bar Harbor is also a surprisingly great foodie town—some would even call it a smaller Portland in that regard.
