‘Surf ‘n Turf Sub’ From Market Basket is Getting Lots of Attention in New England
Two Friends Eat is a Manchester, New Hampshire-based social media account that is worth following. It's run by this dude named Giuseppe, and he travels around New England with friends to try and rate local food establishments.
If you live in or around New England and enjoy dabbling in the local cuisine, their reviews are honest, concise, and often hilarious!
Two Friends Eat recently shared something very unique to the New Hampshire Eats Facebook group. It's turning a few heads, and raising some eyebrows. You've never seen surf 'n turf like this.
Step 1: Buy a roast beef sub from Market Basket ($6).
Step 3: Take the lobster roll filling and spread it evenly in the sub.
And voilà! You have a lobster and roast beef sandwich that’s over a foot long for under $15!
Add mayo and some black pepper, and you’re golden.
To call this surf 'n turf is not being true to surf 'n turf and how it is intended. I would say this is a hybrid of a North Shore-style roast beef and a lobster roll.
The comments came in, and the overwhelming response was disapproval. Someone in the comments said we might as well call a tuna and bologna sandwich surf 'n turf while we're at it. Is it wrong that I actually think it sounds pretty good?
I am not here to yuck anyone's yum. Is it a strange combination? Absolutely! Would I eat it? You bet your bottom dollar I would!
