We have all been tourists on a few occasions in our lives. The word isn't always used with the most positive connotation, but we all like think of ourselves as the good kind of tourist!

Tourists are clearly not from the region, and they often stick out like a sore thumb because of it. If you visit a country where you don't speak the native language, the second you open your mouth, you might as well be wearing a neon sign that says "I'M NOT FROM HERE".

But tourists expose themselves in many different ways. They might ask for directions to a place they are standing directly in front of. They might drive super slow out of fear of missing a turn, causing a big old line of traffic behind them. They might take selfies in front of things they probably shouldn't.

Are these things the end of the world? Of course not! Are they annoying? Of course they are!

Not all tourists are created equal. You can only hope that if you live in a place that tourists like to visit, they'll respect the area and leave it as they found it to the best of their ability.
