Jessica Gagne is Back on Maine News, but Not at Channel 6

It's been great to see Jessica back on Maine TV...but it's not on News Center Maine.

Back in March 2020, just before the world shut down, Jessica Gagne announced on her Facebook page that she was leaving News Center Maine after seven years. She has won several awards, and remains the first and only woman to win Maine Sports Broadcaster of the Year.

But Jessica Gagne isn't on News Center Maine. She's now on mornings on WMTW!

She said in a statement,

I’m so excited to be back, I grew up in Biddeford and now that I’m a mother, it is important to my husband and me that we plant our roots in Maine and build our family in this community. In our journey to return, it was perfect timing and a great opportunity to find my new home at Channel 8 and Maine’s Total Coverage.

Jessica Gagne is on the morning team on Channel 8 WMTW, delivering Maine’s Total Coverage. She started this month. You can wake up with Jessica, Cristina Frank, and Meteorologist Ted McInerney every weekday morning from 4:30-7am.

WMTW President and General Manager Dave Abel said,

She’ll be a great addition to our team. She knows Maine and I know viewers will love waking up with her, Cristina and Ted every weekday morning.

Having worked with Jessica over the years, it is great to have her back in Maine. If you think she seems nice on TV, you are right. She is a lovely person and a top-notch journalist. WMTW is so lucky to have snagged her. Welcome home, Jessica!
