JetBlue Ending Service Out of Manchester, New Hampshire, Airport
It's about to get a little more challenging to fly out of New England to warmer destinations.
According to WMUR, JetBlue announced on Thursday that they would be terminating service out of the Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) airport.
An internal review led to the decision as many of the Manchester, New Hampshire, routes were deemed as 'underperforming'.
JetBlue flights will continue out of MHT until their final day of service at the airport on July 8, 2026.
JetBlue Departing Manchester, New Hampshire, Airport is a Huge Loss
Following Spirit Airlines bankruptcy and ceasing all operations which affected many New Hampshire residents who relied on the discount airline, losing JetBlue out of Manchester is another blow.
JetBlue had been offering direct flights out of Manchester, New Hampshire, to Orlando, Florida, as well as connecting flights to many popular destinations. Unfortunately, those routes simply weren't filling up consistently enough to keep the airline profitable.
With JetBlue's departure, MHT will be down to four major carries; American, United, Southwest and Breeze.
The Portland, Maine, Jetport Has Also Recently Felt The Squeeze of Airline Departures
As expenses skyrocket, airlines ending service at smaller airports isn't just a Manchester, New Hampshire, problem.
Frontier Airlines made the decision to leave the Portland, Maine, (PWM) Jetport in 2025 due to irregular demand on many routes. Similar to MHT, that left Maine residents were fewer options on direct or connecting flights to warm weather destinations.
The departure of low-cost airlines from the smaller airports in both Maine and New Hampshire will push more people back to flying out of Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts.
