Jimmy Fallon Enlists Stars to ‘Sing’ Most Polarizing Christmas Song Of All Time
Jimmy Fallon recruited the talent of several celebrities to deliver an a cappella version of the most polarizing Christmas song released in recent memory -- Paul McCartney's 1979 Wings hit "Wonderful Christmastime."
Joined by The Roots and the star-studded cast of Sing — the forthcoming anthropomorphic animated movie that essentially looks like some bastardized version of American Idol, but for animals — Fallon and Co. belt out the track for a full minute-and-a-half. Reese Witherspoon, Tori Kelly, Scarlett Johansson, Matthew McConaughey and Seth MacFarlane all make appearances, alongside some of their animated Sing counterparts.
Paul McCartney also pops up near the end, and the Sing animals (and Fallon) react accordingly.
Fallon's video recalls a similarly Christmas-themed video from his late-night counterpart James Corden, who enlisted the help of nearly all his past Carpool Karaoke guests to join in on a singalong of Mariah Carey's modern-day classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Adele and several other celebrities -- including Mariah herself! -- belted out the track without shame.
