Latest NWS Forecast Drops Snowfall Totals For Most of Maine

I don't know about you, but I wasn't happy to hear that there was a chance of plowable snow for Southern Maine Thursday night into Friday morning. I haven't even had a chance to buy a snowblower yet, now that I'm a home owner. If you're like me and were dreading plowable snow at the beginning of November, then you can breathe a sigh of relief with the National Weather Service's latest snowfall forecast.

This snowfall map released by the National Weather Service in Gray at Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. forecasts no more than an inch of snow for most of Southern and Western Maine. For areas along the coast snowfall amounts will be less than an inch. The mountains of Maine and New Hampshire however are in store for 3 to 5 inches of snow.

So while we seem to have dodged this one, it's only a matter of time until all the ingredients come together to give us our first significant snowfall of the season.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go shopping for that snowblower.
