Legendary Rockers Aerosmith Coming to Bangor For the First Time Since 1984
Holy cow! Maine is one of only two East Coast stops!
Boston rockers Aerosmith will be up at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor in late summer. They will be keeping Bangor up on Sunday, September 4. The Bangor Daily News reported that the only other announced East Coast performance is at Fenway on September 8. And then if you want to see one of the best rock bands ever, you're gonna have to head to Las Vegas where they are starting a residency in June.
Aerosmith (Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford) hasn't been to Maine since 2003. Before that, they performed at the Civic Center (now the Cross Insurance Arena) 11 times between 1974 and 1998. But they haven't been to Bangor since 1984...38 years ago!
Steven Tyler just celebrated his 74th birthday last month! That hall of famer at 74 years old has more energy than half the people I know half his age!
He gives off a bit of a Jack Sparrow vibe these days, but for 74 years old, he's still rocking it and still pretty damn sexy. I can't go to the Old Port for a raucous one night and look half that good the next day.
When we finally got a handle on Covid, the walls broke and the concerts started pouring in and Bangor is reaping the benefits this year! Aerosmith is one of some pretty spectacular concerts heading up north.
Some of the other big names coming to the Maine Savings Ampitheater are: Dierks Bentley, Phish, the Backstreet Boys, Keith Urban, Pitbull, Sting, and REO Speedwagon and Styx.
TICKETS FOR AEROSMITH GO ON SALE THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 29.
