If you find yourself in Portland, Maine, any time during the summer, the streets will be bustling with people looking for places to shop, eat and drink.

Given how small Portland truly is, the amount of restaurants and bars to choose from is quite astounding.

For a lot of people, it can also be a little overwhelming.

Which is why if you're strolling through a city filled with high end spots that feature bright colored signature cocktails, you should consider visiting one of the few places in the city that melds old Portland with new Portland.

That would be the underground speakeasy called Lincoln's.

For context, Lincoln's has been around in Portland for years now, yet somehow is still brand new to a lot of people.

It has the traditional feel of what most Portland bars used to be. One spot to order drinks, a handful of seats and low prices that have stayed low since the place opened.

But it also mixes in some of that new Portland feel. Lincoln's has merch, host speciality nights including comedy and remains a very inclusive space for everyone to visit. As long as they 21 or older.

But there's two things you really need to know before you visit.

The first is to bring cash. In a world where people are using their cards to pay for everything, Lincoln's remains a cash-only establishment.

The second thing is where to find it. It's a speakeasy after all. And no, we're not going to tell you where it is. Ask someone on the street or work hard on Google. it's worth the effort.
