New York City Retailer Opens New Maine Mall Store
If you've visited the Maine Mall in South Portland recently, it doesn't look like a lot has changed. After last year's hot holiday shopping season, the mall has settled in without a ton of major changes for the entirety of 2024. But that doesn't mean there hasn't been some subtle changes.
That would be the Toy Depot. The store had their grand opening back in March, but customers realized something was off very quickly. With a name like Toy Depot, many were hoping for a classic, old school-style toy store like KB Toys. The store's name didn't quite fit what they were offering.
A few tweaks and a fresh coat of paint, and suddenly the Toy Depot was no more. The store became an official retail outlet for the New York City brand Squishable, seemingly overnight. It is one of only 35 official Squishable outlets nationwide, and the only official one in Maine.
So what is Squishable exactly? As you'd probably deduce, the company offers up a variety of unique and adorable stuffies that are completely squishable. The company launched in 2007, and have since sold millions of stuffies to happy customers worldwide.
While the official store is new, the Squishable brand is not. Many different stores across the state have been carrying Squishables for years. You can find a list of approved retails in Maine right here.
One the key benefits to having a Squishable store in the mall is that new releases and harder-to-find designs will be front and center at the the official store. Squishable in the Maine Mall is open for business.
