People Are Going Nuts Over a Testicle Festival in Maine This August
"You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts!" proclaimed Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton's "Batman". Perhaps that was the inspiration behind Maine's most uniquely-themed festival happening this summer. We're speaking of the Maine Testicle Festival. It'll take place on August 26 in the small town of Palmyra.
Is This Really a Festival About Testicles?
In some ways, yes. The Fogg Brook Resort in Palmyra will be the host for the all-day event. While the name may seem provocative to some, the idea behind the Maine Testicle Festival is to bring awareness to testicular cancer and screening. Proceeds from the festival are donated to support testicular cancer research.
What Happens at the Maine Testicle Festival?
Balls to the wall fun is what happens. The Maine Testicle Festival's signature event is their Blue Balls golf tournament that kicks off at 8am. As golfers begin to come off the course, the gates open for the festival portion of the day. From 1-8pm, the festival features food trucks, lawn games, a beverage tent, live bands and demonstration shows from the Axe Women Loggers of Maine.
Is There an Entrance Fee to Attend the Maine Testicle Festival?
There is but they make it simple. If you're thinking about joining in on the festivities, pack your car with friends and head to the gates on August 26. The Maine Testicle Festival charges by the carload versus individual tickets. There are separate entry fees if you want to take place in the Blue Balls golf tournament. Information can be found here.
