Maine’s First Urban Air Trampoline Park Is Coming To South Portland
The nationwide chain will open their first location in the vacant retail space left behind by Marshall's in South Portland.
While the concept of a trampoline fun park is not new to residents of Southern Maine, the brand name will be. According to the Forecaster, Urban Air Trampoline, know across the country as the premier family-friendly trampoline park chain will open their first location in Maine at the Clarks Pond shopping center.
Urban Air inherits a 31,000 square-foot space from Marshall's, which abandoned the Clark's Pond shopping center along with several other businesses earlier this year, choosing to move to a new location in Scarborough instead. That left open retail space and a lot of room to fill.
Urban Air is known for using that room effectively. They promise to deliver a trampoline park suitable for all-ages, with attractions like trampoline dodgeball courts, slam dunk tracks and a foam pit. Additionally, this particular location of Urban Air will be home to a 2,000 square-foot Urban Warrior Course, based on the popular American Ninja Warrior television show.
In a crowded market for entertainment, the owners of Urban Air have also promised extra amenities including an adult lounge with free wi-fi, various food items available for purchase on-site as well as themed nights throughout the week.
This will be Urban Air's first foray into the northeast. The closest location to South Portland is in Connecticut. The owners hope to have the new location open within the next 60 days. Stay tuned.
