Man Dies in Rangeley, Maine After Falling Out of Bucket Truck While It’s Driving Down The Road

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman, Shannon Moss, a man is dead following an accident in Rangeley on Tuesday morning.

Moss is reporting that a 911 call was placed on Tuesday morning to the Franklin County Emergency Dispatch center from a caller claiming that a man had fallen out of a bucket truck in Rangeley. Emergency crews from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Maine State Police, Rangeley Police, North Star Ambulance and the Maine Department of Transportation responded to the scene on Main Street.

When officials arrived, they attempted life saving measures on the injured man, though sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that the man was riding up high in the bucket near the power lines as another man was driving the Ford van down the road. While the van was travelling south on Main Street, the bucket apparently came in contact with lines going across the road, causing the man to fall out.

The driver of the van, 31-year-old, Anton Natachiev, of Brooklyn, New York, and the victim, who is currently unidentified pending next of kin notification, were in the area working for Consolidated Communications.

Moss went on to say in the press release in part,

 Troopers were assisted by Rangeley Police, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Maine Dept. of Transportation, Rangeley Fire Dept. Central Maine Power Company and NorthStar Ambulance Service on scene.  Route 4 was closed until 4 P.M. while emergency crews worked the scene.
