Before you head out to see your favorite band this summer, make sure you do the one thing that most of us never do before leaving the house anymore—check your wallet. Because if all you’ve got is cash, it's not going to do much for you at some of the biggest venues in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

A growing list of major concert spots—have officially gone cashless. Yup, that wad of paper in your back pocket isn’t gonna get you a beer, a burger, or even a bottle of Dasani. Welcome to 2025, where money isn’t real unless it has a chip or a QR code.

Waterfront concerts stated in a 2022 Facebook post that it's quicker, safer and more secure.

This move is convenient for the venes, but not as great for those who still treat cash like it's not a vintage relic.

On the list of confirmed cashless venues in New England are:

Gillette Stadium - Foxboro, Ma

TD Garden - Boston, MA

Fenway Park - Boston, MA

Maine Savings Amphitheater - Bangor, ME

Cross Insurance Center - Bangor, ME

BankNH Pavilion in Gilford - Gilford, NH

SNHU Arena - Manchester, NH

It's worth noting that there may be more cashless venues in New England, but these are the ones that I was able to confirm.

If you're not living in the golden age of plastic or payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay, it doesn't mean you're screwed. Most, if not all, of these venues will likely guide you toward a “reverse ATM” to convert it into a prepaid card. They call it "cash-to-card" and yes, it's a real thing.
