According to Boston.com, Old Orchard Beach is officially amongst the elite in America.

Fodor's Travel, a worldwide travel guide, has named OOB as one of the 10 best boardwalks to visit anywhere in America.

Fodor's was impressed by the size of the beach as well as Palace Playland, which is the only beachfront amusement park in New England.

But the star of the show remains The Pier.

Fodor's Travel gushed over The Pier in Old Orchard Beach. Fodor's was impressed by just how many restaurants and shops could fit onto a boardwalk that didn't look that large from the ground level.

Fodor's marveled over the views at the end of The Pier while glowingly remarking that you could grab a lobster roll in one hand and a souvenir trinket in another without ever leaving the boardwalk.
