3 Must-Have Items for Your Visit to Canobie Lake Park in NH

Spring is finally here, which means soon enough amusement parks across New England will be opening up for the season. Places where you can go out and enjoy the sunshine, go on some rides, and enjoy time with your friends and family.

Salem, New Hampshire's Canobie Lake Park is one amusement park that I have gone to year after year since I was a little girl. Whether it was with friends, family, summer camps, and honestly, even on dates, it was and is a place where I knew I was guaranteed an epic day.

Canobie Lake Park offers so many attractions for all ages and thrill levels that there is no denying that everyone will leave the park with at least one favorite ride.

Whether you are going to the park for the rides, shows, or to cool off at their water park (Castaway Island), there are some things that you will want to make sure that you pack with you for the day.

Here are 5 things you will want to ensure you have with you on your next visit to Canobie Lake Park.

Sunscreen

Yes, this may be obvious, however, you will be surprised how often people forget to pack sunscreen. Even I, myself, have forgotten it and ended up looking like a bright red lobster. Sometimes, we forget how strong the sun can be, and going to Canobie Lake Park, you will be in the sun all day.

Snacks and Drinks

I remember the days when we brought food into the park and ate it at one of the picnic tables over by the Psychodome attraction. That, however, is no longer case. You can leave snacks and drinks in your car, and have a little car picnic to save money on lunch. Going along with drinks, obviously, you will want to bring water and/or something to give you electrolytes and hydrate yourself from being in the sun all day. Water, Gatorade, or a liquid IV are my go-to drinks when planning a day at Canobie Lake Park.

Change of Clothes, Towels

Let's be honest, it gets hot and there could be many reasons as to why you want to or need to change your clothes (or socks) while visiting the park. Whether you sweat through your socks and/or shirt, get soaked on the Boston Tea Party, or want to spend the day at Castaway Island, a change of clothes is always helpful. You may have not planned to go into the waterpark, but decided to change your mind last minute, well, it is important to note that you cannot go in the "lazy river" if you have any zippers on your clothes, therefore a second set of clothes could come in handy.

Obviously, there are many other things that you can and may want to bring into the park. Money, a bag to hold your tickets, or even a cooling cloth are all good things to pack with you for your day.

If you don't want to pack much to carry around the park, well then you really have three options: don't bring anything, keep stuff in your car, or you can choose to rent a locker for the day.

No matter what you choose, you are guaranteed to have a fun day in the sun (unless it chooses to rain).
