According to police in Piscataquis County, a Sangerville woman allegedly fired a gun during an argument with her husband in their bedroom.

Yup, the explosive argument was about an affair.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Emily Wilson, 38, has been charged with domestic violence, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, both Class C crimes, and domestic violence assault, a Class D crime.

Piscataquis County District Attorney Chris Almy said that Wilson believed her husband was having an affair, and during an argument on April 18, she waved a loaded .45-caliber handgun about before firing a shot into the mattress of their bed. The gun and a shell casing recovered and seized by police as evidence in the investigation. She is also alleged to have grabbed her husband during the altercation.

In her police booking photo, she's wearing a t-shirt with the caption "Stop Domestic Violence." She might want to take her own advice.

And as if this story wasn't crazy enough... Wilson is a teacher. The SAD 4 district website lists Emily Wilson as a social studies teacher at Piscataquis Community High School. The website also indicates that she serves as the Key Club advisor, tennis coach and field hockey coach.

This brings a whole new meaning to "packing heat in the bedroom." Yikes!

If she's convicted of the charges of domestic violence and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, Wilson faces five years in state prison and fines up to $5,000.

Remember, Ms. Wilson is innocent until proven guilty.
