Portland's First Friday Art Walk is back in action and has now added a concert series!

Thanks to a Maine Arts Commission revitalization grant there will now be live music at First Friday. You can see this free, all-ages show right on Monument Square right in the thick of First Friday!

Live music outside is as good as it gets in the great state of Maine. Performing again in front of a crowd is what Portlanders love to celebrate,” says Dinah Minot, Executive Director, Creative Portland, who manages the First Friday Art Walk program.

Friday's concert lineup on Monument Square-5 to 8pm:

The concert will show the amazing variety of styles and talent that we are so lucky to have here in Portland.

We missed 15 First Fridays because of the pandemic, so we all have some catching up to do! First Fridays came back with a vengeance this July. If you've never been to a First Friday, it is fantastic!  Over 3,000 people come downtown on the first Friday of each month to visit galleries and museums, see live performances, buy work from street artists, and greet friends as they stroll along city streets.
