As Maine slowly gets back to a sense of normalcy with more and more Mainers getting vaccinated against COVID-19, a lot of the activities that have been closed down are starting to open back up. L.L. Bean has taken the locks off the doors and is always open once again. The Portland Sea Dogs will have their home opener on May 4, after having to cancel the 2020 season due to COVID. And the movie theaters in Maine that still remain are opening back up as well.

The Cinemagic chain of movie theaters closed for good in February. Flagship Cinemas  have opened their Falmouth, Auburn and Waterville locations with hopes to open other Maine theaters soon, and now Regal Cinemas has announced reopening dates for their theaters in Brunswick and Augusta.

According to Regal Cinemas website, the theater at Market Place at  Augusta will reopen on May 14 while the Regal Cinema at Cook's Corner in Brunswick will open the following week on May 21.

There currently aren't any movie listed for those dates, but here's a list of what other Regal Cinemas across the country are showing currently:

  • Mortal Kombat
  • Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train
  • Godzilla vs Kong
  • Separation
  • Nobody
  • The Unholy
  • Tom & Jerry

Keep an eye on Regal's website for more details on showing and opening information.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
