Soundgarden to Kick Off NFL Season Opener

Are you ready for some flannel?

The NFL has announced that grunge godfathers Soundgarden will perform live outside Seattle's CenturyLink Field before the season-opening game between the Seahawks and Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Sept. 4. The performance will be televised as part of the pregame coverage on both NBC and the NFL Network.

Rapper Pharrell Williams will also contribute to the show set to air between 7:30-8:30PM EST. Disney darling Ariana Grande will sing the National Anthem.

The reunited Soundgarden will be coming off their co-headlining tour with Nine Inch Nails in support of 2012's 'King Animal,' their first album in 16 years. Check out their video for 'Halfway There':
