The Great Falls Brewfest Is Happening This Weekend In Lewiston
It's hard to believe it's already been four years since Lewiston-based Baxter Brewing Company launched the first ever Great Falls Brewfest. It started as a smaller gathering of people who truly enjoyed craft beer around the Lewiston/Auburn area. But in just four years, it has transformed into something much larger, with this years event expected to the the biggest yet.
According to the Sun-Journal, this year's event will give beer drinkers a chance at 185 different beers to sample from 47 different breweries. It's by far the most breweries ever to show up for the Great Falls Brewfest. Not only that, the organizers have decided to have an extended VIP session, meaning those that are willing to drop some extra cash will have two hours rather than one, to drink amongst VIPs and avoid longer lines.
The Great Falls Brewfest has gained a reputation for being an extremely laid-back gathering. It features amazing lawn game competitions, including cornhole as well as the ever ridiculous facial hair competition. And for those that get a little impatient, the attendance is capped at 2,000 people, meaning the wait for your next beer sample or a trip to the restroom will never be too long.
The Great Falls Brewfest is being held at Simard-Payne Memorial Park on the riverfront in Lewiston. This years festival is once again a collaboration between Lewiston/Auburn's three breweries, Gritty's, Bear Bones and Baxter Brewing. The event organizers say there is only a limited amount of tickets still remaining and the event will likely be sold out day of.
