This Golf Driving Range in Scarborough, Maine is One Giant Water Hazzard
Oops. Your ball went in the water? Well, that's the whole point at Pleasant Hill Driving Range.
Pleasant Hill Driving Range has a cool history. Back in the 50's this land was farmed. About a 100 acres and a small farm stand. They dug it out for a gravel pit, and it became Prout's Sand and Loam for about 30 some odd years. Eventually, the loam was depleted - and that's when the range was born! It's been in Scarborough for about 20 years.
It's about a 26-acre pond that you can drive up to 300 yards. The balls are designed to duplicate regular balls, but these balls float! Don Prout works really hard to make this unique spot fun and open to all ages!
This floating driving golf range, located 10 min from Portland, is open sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week with free parking. Bring your own clubs, but they always keep some on hand. It's self-service and cash only - no reservations needed! Only $5 for 45 balls. There are some floating boats to try and hit and yard markers to see just how big your drive is! They now serve amazing ice cream too and you can bring your well behaved pet too!
Look for batting cages to open up mid-summer. Go ahead and hit a golf ball in the water guilt-free!
