Ziggi’s Coffee in Saco, Maine, Opening Again After 18-Month Closure
People in Maine can be incredibly loyal about certain things in their lives. And one of those things is the coffee they drink.
Some people are loyal to store bought brands. Others can't imagine their morning with a trip through the drive-thru at a place like Dunkin' or Starbucks. Some prefer the coziness of a small, local shop.
If you're going to break into the Maine marketplace with a coffee chain, you better have exceptional service and some really addictive menu items. Or else.
Ziggi's Coffee Opened and Closed in Maine Within 7 Months
That didn't seem to be the case for Ziggi's Coffee when it opened in Saco, Maine, in 2024. Ziggi's opened to rough reviews as it attempted to work out the kinks.

By the time reviews turned positive for the chain, it shockingly closed in November of 2024. Ziggi's claimed it was temporarily but signage was quickly covered and it seemed that Ziggi's short run in Maine was over.
However, the building and signage sat dormant there over the course of two Maine winters. That left the door open for Ziggi's to potentially return.
Sometimes, all you need is a comeback and Ziggi's is ready to make one.
