This Hat Tree in Maine Will Give You Hope This Holiday Season

The season is getting colder and times are tougher than ever this year.

Efforts are made each year to make sure Mainers are able to stay warm in our cold months with frigid temperatures. More and more families are relying on the kindness and generosity of others to help bridge the gap for needs to make ends meet.

On Second Street in Hallowell, a unique tree can be found, a hat tree! Hung on the branches with care are warm winter hats in Ziplock bags that are free for the taking.

This is also a smart move during the pandemic. It doesn't get any more "no-contact" than plucking a hat from a tree.

This is a fantastic idea and at this time it appears that the mad tree hatter is an anonymous resident.
