This Portland Favorite Was Named As The Best Craft Beer Bar In Maine
Things up and down Forest Avenue in Portland has certainly changed over the past four decades. Shops open, they close. New developments, new gas stations, new traffic designs. And they've all been surrounded by one constant...The Great Lost Bear.
Lovingly known as "The Bear" by locals, The GLB has been open since 1979 and was once again named the Best Craft Beer Bar in Maine by CraftBeer.com. In fact, the GLB is the longest-running bar on CraftBeer.com's best Craft Beer Bar list, meaning the business thrived even before the craft beer boom.
The Great Lost Bear has always had a following amongst locals for it's rotating tap line of nearly 80 beers. Often times, it's the easiest way for locals (and tourists) to try some of the newest and beer craft beer offerings without traveling to every corner of the city. Congrats to the GLB!
