Leaving a review is something people are prompted to do in almost every aspect of their life these days. Get an oil change? You're asked to leave a review. Download an app on your phone? Leave a review. Shop at your local warehouse store? Tell them all about your customer experience.

Those reviews are often coerced and don't come from the heart. The real reviews we should all be reading are ones that are clearly written from a true, authentic experience. No discount or extra gift as a reward. Just the good, the bad or the ugly in someone's own words.

Which is exactly why an old 2017 review of a Lewiston, Maine, hotel is pure gold.
