3 Walmart Stores in Maine Will Be Renovated

Believe it or not, Walmart opened their very first store in Maine almost 40 years ago.

Since then, a lot has changed in the way people shop and how they view major department stores.

Walmart is fully aware of that.

As Amazon continues to expand their footprint in Maine with some major warehouses on the way, Walmart wants to make sure that customers still believe in their brand.

Walmart is 'modernizing' many of their stores across the nation and that will include a trio of locations here in Maine.

Walmart Will Renovate Locations in Auburn, Biddeford and Falmouth, Maine

Walmart has announced an aggressive plan to renovate more than 650 stores nationwide as they try to keep up with competition. Those renovations will include Walmart stores in Auburn, Biddeford as well as Falmouth.

Some of the changes planned at Walmarts in Maine will be instantly noticeable.

Walmart plans to update their parking lots, landscaping and signage. Shoppers will also notice wider aisles and layouts that Walmart believe will fit a 'modern shopper' better.

Walmart Will Upgrade Services at Auburn, Biddeford and Falmouth, Maine, Locations

Another key point in Walmart's renovation plans is to upgrade services at key stores.

Walmart plans to upgrade pharmacy services to include private consultation rooms as well as free pharmacy deliver for members of Walmart plus.

Walmart also plans enhancements to their curbside pickup and delivery services. Walmart intends to compete with Amazon and offer same-day delivery at many locations.

New Brands Are Coming to Walmart Stores in Auburn, Biddeford and Falmouth, Maine

Another change Walmart will rapidly install is bringing new brands to their renovated stores.

Walmart hasn't officially what those brands are but expect to see many new products to the modernized stores.

Additionally, the Walmart app will more accurately display inventory in stores to allow shoppers to choose between pickup or same-day delivery without interruptions.
