Watch Foo Fighters Invite KISS Fan Onstage to Play ‘Monkey Wrench’
The Foo Fighters kicked off their U.S. tour in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night (April 18) and made it a memorable night by inviting a fan wearing KISS make-up on stage to play “Monkey Wrench.” Watch the video above.
Frontman Dave Grohl invited the fan on stage, who was wearing Gene Simmons’ Kiss make-up and a Motorhead shirt. Grohl asked the fan, “You ever done this before? It’s really fine,” before handing him his Gibson guitar. The fan, who even brought his own guitar pick to the show, was so shocked he never introduced himself while Grohl kept simply referring to him as “KISS Guy.”
The band launched into “Monkey Wrench” and “Kiss Guy” did not disappoint running around the stage like a madman. After the guitarist laid down an incredible guitar solo, Grohl was rendered speechless and actually forgot the lyrics.
Grohl was so impressed he asked the band to bring the song down in volume to let “KISS Guy” shred some more.
The Foos are known for their spontaneous on-stage collaborations and performed with KISS’ real frontman Paul Stanley in Los Angeles back in 2015. The Starchild performed “Detroit Rock City” and “Do You Love Me” with the band at Dave Grohl’s birthday bash.
The Foo Fighters will take the stage in Houston, Texas tonight. Check out their tour dates here.
