Two Stores at The Maine Mall in South Portland Close Permanently

Holiday shopping at the Maine Mall in South Portland this year will feature quite a bit of change at the state's largest indoor shopping center.

There are several stores in the process of opening new locations or working on a renovated concept.

With several new openings, there's usually some closings as well. That is the case with the Maine Mall as a pair of businesses have officially departed.

Miniso Permanently Closes Their Maine Mall Location

Officially opening about three years ago, Miniso was a welcomed addition to the Maine Mall lineup back in 2023.

But the store never seemed to find its footing with customers. Miniso has made its name selling a range of affordable toys, lifestyle products and more. However, most of the brands didn't seem to click with regular shoppers.

Miniso officially closed their only location in the state at the Maine Mall on September 19.

Maylfower Massage Closes Their Location at the Maine Mall in South Portland

Located in the JC Penney wing, Mayflower Massage has officially closed their location at the Maine Mall.

Mayflower Massage had initially opened in late-2022 as part of the mall's seasonal rush of openings.

A new massage business called Energy Massage will take over the space and have a grand opening soon.

Uncharted Has Officially Opened For Business at the Maine Mall in South Portland

While the tradition version of The Paper Store will continue on in many locations, a rebranded version called Uncharted has officially opened at the Maine Mall.

Uncharted will focus on stocking trendy items, lifestyle products as well as fashion items that are having a moment. Stores will also feature experiences like charm bars, ear piercing and custom events
