WCYY Welcomes Barenaked Ladies and Violent Femmes to the Maine State Pier

What better band to help us celebrate our 20th than Barenaked Ladies! We were one of the first alternative stations in the US (ya, we're bragging for a sec) to play the band. We had them on the CYY patio back in '97, which drew thousands. The next year, the wave continued when they released their hugely successful album "Stunt." With a ton of shows and memories over the years, let's do it again!

And it just gets better. The legendary trio from Wisconsin, Violent Femmes will be on tap for the big show at the Maine State Pier on June 26th. Singer Gordon Gano and bassist Brian Ritchie are keeping the Femmes legacy alive after forming in 1980 with current drummer Brian Vigilione.

Let's not stop there. If you're a fan of the 80's, then there's a good chance your a fan of Colin Hay, even if the name doesn't ring a bell. Colin was the frontman of the Australian band Men At Work known for hits like "Down Under" ,  "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Overkill."
