
New Nautical Themed Bar Opens in Portland, Maine’s Old Port
Crowds poured into Portland, Maine, over the fourth of July, with the streets of the Old Port packed with curious tourists visiting the city's various shops, restaurants and bars.
For visitors to Wharf Street, they were likely struck by how much turnover has the popular thoroughfare in just the last several months. Tomaso's Pizza and Burger Bar has officially opened as well as Insomnia Cookies opening their first location in the city.
There's also a brand new joint to grab snacks and some intriguing cocktails that is meant to bring 20,000 leagues under the sea.
Wharf Street Yacht Club Opens in the Old Port of Portland, Maine
According to Portland Food Map, a new bar with a very nautical theme has opened in Portland's Old Port at 43 Wharf Street. It's called the Wharf Street Yacht Club but you don't need a membership to get through the door.
Wharf Street Yacht Club celebrated their grand opening in June by transporting guests from the cobblestone street outside into what feels like a seasoned dive bar situated on an angry coastline.
The new spot takes over the space formerly home to the Drink Exchange as well as Hot Liquor Tank.
Wharf Street Yacht Club Serves Sandwiches, Snacks and Some Interesting Cocktails
Wharf Street Yacht Club is designated as a restaurant on Google because it serves up a variety of soups, sandwiches and snacks. You'll find everything from seafood chowder to a crab rangoon grilled cheese to oyster shooters.
The bar portion of the Yacht Club includes craft beer and some signature cocktails including one named after famed adult star Jenna Jameson.
Wharf Street Yacht Club is currently open Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm until 1am.
