More than two years ago, World Gym in Portland, Maine, made a confusing announcement that left many of their loyal and longstanding members frustrated and upset.

The gym claimed that they weren't closing but instead "relocating". But as months passed and then years, it seemed to most gym goers that whatever plans World Gym may have had to relocate had never materialized.

There Are Hints World Gym is Returning to Portland, Maine

Perhaps World Gym was simply biding their time and waiting for the right space to open up in the right location. There's a series of new job postings on Indeed.com that suggest World Gym is about to make a comeback in Portland, Maine.

From club manager to reception and more, World Gym has several new jobs listed in the Portland, Maine, market. The job listings don't give away where the new gym would be located but there is a localized email address to send resumes to meaning a likely return.

The Former World Gym Space in Portland, Maine, Will Become An Indoor Mini Golf Course and Sports Bar

According to Portland Food Map, a portion of the old World Gym space is being built out to become Portland's first mini golf course within city limits. It won't just be a mini golf course, it'll be an indoor mini golf with a massive sports bar and restaurant attached to it.

It will be called Minibar and despite the name, the new facility will cater to guests of all ages. Construction is ongoing with the hope that Minibar will have a grand opening this summer.
