New Indoor Mini Golf Attraction Planned for Portland, Maine
For many people who visit Portland, Maine, in a season other than summer, they are often letdown by the lack of things to do that don't involve sightseeing, eating or drinking.
Portland is home to museums, art galleries and movie theaters, but it has been lacking in other tangible time killers that are unique and fun.
In the past couple of years, Portland has become home to an indoor golf simulator for those that want to hit the links without worrying about the weather. And soon, Portland will be home to a different kind of indoor golf. A long-awaited and much-needed indoor mini golf course.
According to Portland Food Map, a portion of the old World's Gym space is being built out to become Portland's first mini golf course within city limits. It won't just be a mini golf course, it'll be an indoor mini golf with a massive sports bar and restaurant attached to it.
It's going to be called Minibar and hopes to fill a pair of clear and obvious voids within the Portland, Maine, market. The city is in desperate need of a new hobby night out and a four-season mini golf course is a step in the right direction. Despite the name, Minibar plans to be a place for all ages.
The other void is a sports bar. Since both Binga's Stadium and Rivalries closed in recent years, sports fan in and around Portland haven't had many places to congregate and watch a big game with friends. That will change with Minibar, which hopes to have a restaurant that will seat 125 guests.
Minibar is hopeful to open sometime in June of 2025.
