New Hampshire Named Best State to Move to in America For 2026

After being the runner-up on the best states to move to list each of the last two years, New Hampshire finally takes the top spot.

New Hampshire excelled in two of the key categories, ranking second in the nation in safety as well as overall quality of life.

New Hampshire also boasts the fourth-lowest unemployment rate in the nation pushing their economic outlook in the right direction. Add that to zero sales tax and New Hampshire is the most attractive state to move to in the nation.

Maine Ranked in the Top 5 On Best States to Move to List

Maine has repeatedly been amongst the top 10 states to move to over the last few years thanks to its consistently high rankings in safety and quality of life.

That is the case again in 2026, as Maine boasts the lowest violent crime rate in the nation and continues its run as being a top 10 state for overall quality of life.
