Chipotle Opened Its First Portland Location This Weekend

When it was announced last December that Portland would be getting its first Chipotle location in the Bayside neighborhood, social media exploded and buzz began to grow. But the last 5 months of waiting for that Chipotle to open has felt like 5 years.

That changed this weekend, as Portland's first Chipotle opened at 195 Kennebec St. Free food was given away for their "soft" opening, in hopes of working out some of the kinks. People were obviously excited about the event:

While the Kennebec St location is Portland's first official Chipotle location, the area has had two successful locations running in South Portland and Westbrook for multiple years now. The Portland location actually opened earlier than expected, as the initial construction plans called for breaking ground to take place in May. There will also be a new Dunkin' Donuts location in the same plaza.
