If you don't get psyched to see this documentary after watching this trailer... you need to check yourself on some things. Seriously. The Damned were such an important band. They still are really. The way they did it; you don't see it being done like that anymore, unfortunately. Yes they were dangerous and without a single care in the world... but music could use some of that carefree magic again. A band happening because it had to. Playing because they had to. Living life reckless abandon cause there was no other way. Surviving, barely. THAT was punk rock. The Damned were punk rock. No rules.

If I asked you who put out the first official full length punk album in the UK, who would you say did that? Sex Pistols? The Clash? The UK Subs? Nope, nope and nope. All of those bands were together and causing chaos by then yes, but it was the highly energetic and wild sounds of The Damned that were first on long playing record albums.

Their debut album, Damned Damned Damned will always be their best work and in my opinion one of the greatest punk albums of all time. Although it seemed like they should have been one and done, like the Pistols, The Damned went on to make many more records and play up until, well, still really. The teamed up with a pretty amazing and possibly unnecessary line of producers worked with them too; Nick Lowe (due to their being on Stiff Records), Nick Mason of Pink Floyd and Hans Zimmer??
