Toughcats new album Rough Ones affirms the quality that comes from 10 years of performing, touring, writing and recording.

For ten years now this power trio of banjo, resonator guitar, and drums have been surprising audiences with their original take on indie Americana rock.

Rough Ones, the bands fourth studio album, makes its way from banjo driven instrumentals, to 70′s sounding power pop, and finds a way to make a delicate ballad or rock rhythm fit right in.

Balanced by two lead vocalists and well-timed harmonies, Rough Ones captures the balance of Toughcats succinct and deliberate arrangements with the raw garage band intensity that the band is known for. Rough Ones was recorded and mixed over a weekend in January by Ron Harrity at Forest City Studio in South Portland, ME, and mastered by Greg Saunier, drummer for the noise pop band Deerhoof.
