Lotsa hype for yet another re-do of a classic. What say you of Mad Max 2015?

It's hard to believe the first Mad Max came out 36 years ago. 36! Watching it now, sure its a bit dated but hey the 70's, had to work with what ya had back then!

The series would see a couple more movies to follow starring Mel Gibson as Max and directed by George Miller (Twilight Zone the movie, Dead Clam, The Witches of Eastwick, Happy Feet). Mad Max was the original and it laid the groundwork, but the second one, The Road Warrior was the best. The third was a few years down the line so the budget and the ideas were bigger. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome featured a still sexy as ever Tina Turner, but even Tina's legs couldn't make this film a classic. It did ok back then, also thanks to her theme song, but who looks back and talks up then one. Would you fire that up before Raiders or Star Wars or Blade Runner? Hells no! The idea though was great.

So much so that in 2015 Village Roadshow has decided to bring it back with, Mad Max: Fury Road" starring Tom Hardy (Inception, Batman: The Dark Knight Rises) and Charlize Theron (you know well enough who she is). Perhaps the coolest and surprising thing is they let the original director run the show again. Surprising cause usually people want to re-use the story with someone else's vision. This go, they said let's re-up the story, but let George try it with a new vision. So you get the best of both worlds. A new vision (with big, new money and technology) mixed with the original spirit and overall gist.

From the trailer alone earlier this year, the WOW factor was off the charts! Watch these folks react to the trailer for the first time and then let us know what you thought of the movie!

Now seeing it  (or not), what's your take on the movie?
