No matter what century it is, there's one fact that's withstood the test of time: people love their ice cream. Popular user review and recommendation website Yelp decided to do the Lord's work by searching for the top 100 ice cream shops in the United States. How was this done, you might ask? According to Yelp,

We identified businesses in the ice cream category, then ranked those spots using a number of factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews between January 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023. This list looked at businesses in the US and Canada with five or fewer locations.

Several spots in New England were featured, which we'll get to in a minute. But for now, here's a look at the establishment that came out on top for our region. Coming in at #7 for the nation was Tricycle Ice Cream in Providence, Rhode Island.

According to Yelpers, what makes this popular place stand out are its 30+ types of gourmet desserts, including "gigantic ice cream sandwiches and waffle-cone 'tacos'". Ever heard of an ice cream taco? This writer hasn't, but if the below picture is any indicator, visitors to Tricycle are in for quite the treat.
