The Boston Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 on a shootout goal from David Pastrnak. But B's fans can thank backup goalie Anton Khudobin and Torey Krug for getting the game into a shootout in the first place.

A sleepy Bruins team trailed most of the night 1-0. Then a Tory Krug shot from the point got deflected at the 19:28 mark of the third period to tie the game.

Khudobin played well all night while Tuukka Rask rested. He stopped 29 shots.

When it got to shootout time, Ryan Spooner and Pastrnak scored goals and the B's got the win and the two points in the standings.

Put the Bruins record at 13-10-1.
