For most people, New Years Eve is a time for celebration. To put the past years accomplishments or failures behind you, and ring in a clean slate of hopes, dreams and ideas. For others though, New Years Eve can end up being dangerous. And for one well-known Portland musician, that is exactly how he rang in 2018. (For the record, this incident DID NOT happen in Portland)

(We chose to not use the person's name or their band name in this post. If they choose to come forward on their own, we'll edit this post.)

A startling and scary story on its own. It's also an important reminder that we all may be sharing a space, a venue, an experience, it's still as important as ever to know where and from whom you're receiving alcoholic beverages. Another takeaway from this post is that whether you are male or female, you can still be at risk. Drugging drinks does not discriminate based on gender.

We applaud this musician for sharing their story. It's truly difficult for anyone to admit (musician or not)that there was a point when they were completely helpless, unable to control their movements and unable to fix whatever they were feeling. Remember, always be aware and always be careful.
