Rave ‘N’ Rage 3/16/2018 – St. Paddy’s Day Edition
This weekend is something of a special one, CYY Freaks - it's a bona-fide excuse to go out and do all the partying you do normally, and maybe even be proud of it. I'm planing on going at least a little wild, and do so by fitting at least a little live music in there! Here are my picks for this weekend's debauchery.
By the way, if you ever get the opportunity, be sure to ask Joey about his St. Paddy's Day on Wharf St from a few years ago...
Ann Wilson of Heart
7:30pm Doors, 8:30pm Show
- Heart is one of the original badass female-fronted rock bands, and Ann Wilson is still out there strutting it do this day. Need proof? Here's her cover of Soundgarden's 'Black Hole Sun' - you're welcome.
Port City Music Hall (Portland)
5 :30pm Doors, 6:30pm Show
$18 Advance, $20 Day of Show
-Knuckle Puck brings some serious attitude to pop-punk. A prominent figure in the new wave of the genre, these guys can bring it live like nobody's business.
Scolded Dogs for St Paddy’s Day
The Liberal Cup (Hallowell)
All Ages (But it IS St. Paddy’s Day…)
-Hallowell favorite Scolded Dogs are back at the Liberal Cup, where they made a live record last year, to help turn things up for the drinking-delated celebrations. Our suggestion? Check it out.
Sacred Heart Church (Yarmouth)
$20 Suggested donation, discounts for families
-For those of you looking to get a little introspective, Eric Genuis brings a blend of classical piano and inspirational speaking to Yarmouth on Sunday. Tickets will be available at the door, and discounted for families of four or more!
Well, that's what I have this time around. There's quite literally so much happening for the holiday in every downtown area across the state on Saturday, that I won't even try to mention it all. However, if you show up and wander around, you're bound to find cool stuff! REMEMBER TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!
