For some crazy reason, I was wide awake early on a Saturday recently. I flipped on the tube to see what cartoons are on for kids these days. After review of a few stations, I wept.

Ok, I'm not "YOUNG", but I can't be the only one who remembers getting up Saturday morning and setting up shop in front of the TV for the original binge watching, right?!

Recently I was up early on a Saturday Morning so I clicked around and would become faint and quite ill at what I didn't see. There was like nothing going on cartoon wise. It was all "Good Morning Saturday" crap and more useless Hollywood Breaking News Entertainment Beat reporting. Who's that for? The people sleeping, passed out or still at the clubs? Saturday morning TV is for the kids, period! Anyone older should be sleeping like a normal person. For a youngster, getting lost in a sea of animated hours was a safe place to be. Safe in terms of location and internally inside your cute kid soul, safe.

Surely the years have changed things; Nickelodeon, cartoon networks, Simpsons, South Park, Beavis & Butthead, internet, You Tube, Laptops, nighttime cartoons, DVDs, etc. But There was a joy of getting up and clicking on some cartoons you eventually would come to love. Some silly Kung-Fu Dog or Con-man trickster Cat hustling the local city folk. Original, well written and funny. Cartoons aren't what they used to be IF you can find them.

Well this sad Saturday I spent made me do some digging. If you're bummed about the programming for our little people on the weekends too, journey with me won't you back to a time when life was gooder and Saturday mornings started off the best way possible.

See if any of these jog your memory!
