According to the Portland Press Herald, one of Maine's most recognized beer companies is set to get a major expansion in the near future. Sebago Brewing Company is planning a "destination brewery" in Gorham right off of Route 25 that would offer a similar experience to what Allagash Brewing is currently doing.

The boom in craft beer interest in Maine led Sebago Brewing to search for a larger property to expand their operations. Founded in 1998, Sebago Brewing Company has been one of the most recognized beer names in the state for years.

The proposed plan to the town of Gorham includes a large complex off of Route 25 located by Beal's Ice Cream and Martin's Point Health Care. Sebago Brewing is hoping the new brewery will attract tourists and locals who are curious about how their beer is made, enjoy samples and a new menu filled with beer-centric items.

The Gorham Town Council is planning on reviewing Sebago Brewing Company's request Tuesday evening. Regardless of the outcome, Sebago Brewing says it's brew pub currently located in Gorham will remain open.
