It's that time of year again, and Skowhegan's annual River Fest is on!

Most of it's very family friendly, but there are still a few adult-only events around town, including live music and TONS of awesome food. The fest runs from the July 31st-Aug 5th, so there's still plenty of time to go and check things out!

There's everything from a variety of live music, fireworks, raft rides, dinner in the park and more. For the full schedule, check out their website!

I'll be honest, I don't tend to get too involved with the annual town celebrations around Maine, but a few years ago, River Fest booked a free Rustic Overtones show. Beer tent, music, food; doesn't get much better than that.

Even part way through the show the power cut out. I mean, gonzo, caput, dead, but the show continued on via percussion instruments by most of the members until the problem was solved. Pretty cool right?

River Fest looks more than promising, but maybe next year, we'll be treated with some good local Rustic!
