Well, if we can’t have fresh Stranger Things this year, Universal Studios is going to bring us the next best thing. The theme park will feature the Upside Down as part of its Halloween Horror Nights this year, as designed by the creators themselves.

Word that Stranger Things 3 would wait until 2019 has us all upside down, but there may be good news yet. Season 3 of the breakout Netflix drama is largely mapped out, including new “forces of evil” and slim hope that fewer episodes might keep a 2018 premiere in play.

Ah, the perfect confluence of Stranger Things, ‘80s nostalgia and an actual Friday the 13th. Two weeks out from Season 2, Stranger Things promises a final trailer with a wonderfully retro new Friday the 13th-style promo.

As if 2017 weren’t already strange enough, Stranger Things will be kicking off the countdown to Season 2 this very Super Bowl Sunday. A first photo from the sequel season sees the gang decked out in Ghosbusters regalia, with the promise of an official Stranger Things 2 teaser during the big game.

One of the things we learned in our extensive look at Stranger Things’ Demogorgon concept art was just how much engineers thought to realize the creature practically. Now, gruesome behind-the-scenes photos and videos from production show just how the Upside Down monster looked as a terrifying physical effect.

Stranger Things has plenty of mysteries left to unfurl in Season 2, perhaps foremost among them the return of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven. One casting call even had fans buzzing that Eleven’s predecessors (or successors) might join the fray, though a surprisingly direct source now refutes the claim.

It was apparent to anyone on another planet that Stranger Things wore its ‘80s influence on its sleeve, and it’s only fitting that Season 2 pay back some of those homages. So it is, that original Goonies star Sean Astin of course joins the cast, along with Paul Reiser and more.

Whatever the reason behind late-in-the-game Stranger Things mashups, we’re hard-pressed to deny some of the skill involved. Following Buffy and Charlie Brown combinations, Netflix’s surprise summer hit gets a magical Harry Potter mashup, as Eleven and her friends take a trip to Hogwarts.

Stranger Things isn’t the type for a Hollywood who’s-who, other than major stars like Winona Ryder and David Harbour, but Season 2 is nonetheless getting stranger by the minute. Not only do we have two Power-ful new additions to the cast, but also confirmation on which existing cast members we’ll be seeing more of next year.
