If you're going to see Primus and Dinosaur Jr. next Monday at Thompsons Point, show up early and open your mind a little bit. You just might like what your hear!

It's not loud and fuzzy ear bleeding. That's the great Dinosaur Jr. It's not bass slappy, quirky rock brilliance. That would be Primus. The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger bring their own magic to this amazing trio of acts next Monday at Thompson's Point.  CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS AND INFO

Ok, for the ones who need a simple breakdown because you've got things to do; take the mid to late 60's cosmic melodic rock influence of the Beatles, Beach Boys and Pink Floyd. Pour that into a less chaotic, less confetti throwing, more organically musical Flaming Lips and you might start to understand The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Oh, and watch it all happen on a View Master! (Young people, look that one up and don't hate. There were no ipads then. Those things were magic)

The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger is the creation of Charlotte Kemp Muhl and Sean Lennon. When The GoaSTT started in 2008, it was a musical idea created to allow the two to spend more time together as a couple. They both shared the love for music, art, film and creating new and unique things. Being together as a band, as well as in love was the perfect double dipping. The most popular double dipping of this nature might have come previously from Sean's parents. Fantastic groundwork. That amazing style of relationship has passed on to Sean and Charlotte and they are doing amazing things together. They inspire each other in many ways. It's pretty cool when you think about it. Musically, we get to enjoy the outcome and it's getting better with each ep, album and single they release.

I was talking with a friend recently who's into bands like Tame Impala, Delta Spirit, MGMT and Temples. I mentioned that he should check out The GoaSTT with Primus and Dino Jr. on Monday. I said it was Sean Lennon's current band. He said "Current band? Has he done other music?" I then laid down an onslaught of Sean's resume. From Cibo Mato to Soulfly to his fantastic solo records; Sean has done so cool much with his years in music already. Super impressive track record. Click below for more of his music involvement and offerings. Keep in mind this list stops about 8 years ago!

I've been playing The GoaSTT since their full length debut, Midnight Sun back in spring of 2014 on WCYY's Spinout. The band puts out a lot of cool stuff on linem on vinyl and even cassette. Keeps it fun to be a fan. We could use more of that these days. Their recent ep, Goastt Stories is possibly their best stuff to date. To score any of their music, CLICK HERE

Watch some of their incredibly well done videos below as well as some other cool performances and interviews.
