After getting your fill of tourist destinations and funneling several lobster rolls into your eager stomach, venture off Portland's peninsula a little ways and step into one of the strangest attraction in the entire state.

The International Cryptozoology Museum at Thompson's Point is the only museum of its kind in the world. The exhibits include stories about Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster, as well as living fossils and other animal discoveries. The museum also features film props and other items that have been used to depict the strange and mysterious over several decades.

You can visit the museum and see Big Foot, jacaklopes, and many other creatures for yourself.
