Thanks to LiveLeak amongst others, the video of a botched robbery attempt in Sanford, Maine went viral over the weekend. 

According to the Portland Press Herald, Sanford Police released a video on Tuesday of a botched armed robbery that occurred at the Super 8 Motel. The police released the video to help inspire leads for their investigation, what the police weren't expecting is that the video would become an internet sensation.

Viral video websites like LiveLeak picked up the video over the weekend, which led to commenters calling it "one of the worst robbery attempts of all time" In fact, one of the Reddit threads about the video has inspired more than 200 comments. Check them out here. 

Inside the video, you'll see the suspect in the case wielding a knife, threatening the motel clerk. After failing at grabbing her laptop, he then picks up a candy dish and threatens to drop it on the floor. Towards the end of the video, it appears the suspect is thinking about taking the computer monitor from a desktop as collateral damage.
