As we continue our virtual celebrations of Maine's 200th birthday this year, WBLM is proud to present the next installment in a series that will educate as well as deliver the laughs.

On March 15, 1820, Maine became the 23rd state in these United States of America. To commemorate the anniversary, we thought you'd enjoy the 3rd new Maine history video from our silly brutha from anutha mutha, Teagan Wright.

By now you've probably seen his From Away TV show that puts a spotlight on hardworking Mainers along with their 'finest-kind' products and services. Or maybe you've seen his hilarious "Sternman" character salty, silly check-ins from the fishin' boat.

Teagan is wicked smaht and wicked funny. So who better to help us brush on our local history as we celebrate 200 years being uniquely Maine.

Here's a description straight from the fellah who thought it up.

"The Hard Tellin' series is gonna be just a whole bunch of short animated stories about Maine history, myths and legends. So shit like the Loopgaru, and the dog that helped win a battle for the Maine civil war division, the next one is gonna be about a Passamaquoddy God and the invention of Allen's coffee brandy!!!"

So far, Teagan has told us about how Vikings were the first people from away to discover the land a wicked long time ago. He also filled us in on how a teenager in 1856 named Abbie Burgess kept the waters safe during a nor'easter by making sure the lighthouse stayed illuminated, with candles.

And now, here comes the 3rd episode in the 'Hard Tellin' series. Teagan tells us the very early legend of a native Maine God who brought peace to the region. The legend also hilariously explains the origin of what would become our beloved adult beverage.
